Just got this today - It`s a Brazilian budget Mundial 6" cleaver in an unspecified high-carbon stainless.
It is 2mm full tang, triple-riveted but is a bit heavy at 277 grams but for the pittance - £12, I am not going to be churlish and nit pick.
I am so used to budget knives; if I`m not happy with it I can always thin it and change the geometry ; softer steels help the process but my diamond-wheeled Tormek sorts them out...
It was an English Sheffield made knife from the 1930`s or 1940`s (top right pic) and I use it two-three times a day at least.
I ordered this little knife weeks ago and forgot about it until it turned up the other day.
It was only £17 delivered and is not bad quality for a budget model.
Of course it is made in China but is nevertheless heavy for it`s size at 69 grams or roughly 2 1/2 ounces.
It is full-tang 3 rivets with full bolster and black plastic handle like a lot of classic French, German, English and American kitchen knives....
