Carefully measuring water to match the 2g alginate packet I have.

Degassing the blended alginate, thanks to MuchoBocho for the foodsaver mason jar attachment idea!

Spheres...well, blobs...of yogurt resting in the bath for 2 minutes

    Got 9 sphe-blobs...that...tasted a lot like yogurt...

They are much sturdier than I would have expected...

I think I'm going to try it again but add some raita masala and make them much smaller to see how that affects texture. Still not exactly sure how I would use these...or to what effect.

They were a good bit of fun for the night, texture was interesting till it popped in your mouth, I also like playing with agar agar to do caviar style stuff.
Terrible photo but a little tomato cucumber salad with a balsamic caviar 2014-04-30 18.50.06.jpg

I admit I'm an immature old fart. I look at those pictures (or ones of foam) and think about the time a friend of mine had to write up an accident report when someone fell and hurt themselves at work.

Cause of accident: Slipped on a loogie.

(And who hasn't played "hock a loogie on a chain link fence.")
