so im working on a single bevel but think i made something thats not anything. 210mm edge 4mm spine 36mm heel built for WA hand;e. is there a name for something like this
the front bevel was ground on my 48 inch platten as was the back

Is not it very similar to a 7 sun yanaigba?

I used to own a single bevel Shig petty. It was literally a 160 mm Yani. But called a petty. I just called it a yanagibetty. Because I like Betty's(greaser lingo).

How did that one feel? Should have been quite a good peeler I would guess.

It would have made an excellent garde manger knife...

set calipers at .55mm and scratched the marker off to see how far up the blade .55 ended up looking good i think

cant wait to see the knife finished. I have always loved a very lengthy yanagiba but this one may be something more to be desired. butch your work is always amazing. keep it up!

Because I'm a human, I don't eat plastic bags very often, but the cutting was impressive. Hope my mini-gyuto will be able to cut that well.
