My everyday wear is this Citizen. A few years ago I really got into watches. I think it was when 007 Casino Royale came out. I went and got an Omega from a local pawn shop (3/4 size dial for my skinny little wrists) and it just never fit as well as this citizen does. I also have a fantastic fake Rolex, and when I'm out in the woods, I wear a sweet Luminox 3000 with a yellow face and the Navy SEAL trident engraved on the back.

Sadly, for me anyway, watch fashion has seen the size of watches increase to comical proportions. It is like they are becoming cartoon watches they are so huge. Getting hard to find nice traditional 39 to 42mm sized watch cases.
My dream watch is the Omega Speed Master Date. SPEED MASTER! omega-speedmaster-date-3210-50-00-4.gif.jpg

  4. Part of it depends on the wrist size I guess but this Citizen Eco-Drive I have with a 44mm case is about as big as I like watches

Although the Edifice I just bought from the pawn shop has a 49mm case so might take a bit of getting used to and I might not even keep it yet, on the plus side I could make some cash if I did sell it as it was a great price

    The two side by side

I haven't worn my Movado for over 10 years but I like it.
    Simple, thin and comfortable.

  6. Anyone familiar with Poseidon watches?
Picked one up recently from a charity shop, they seem to be a Swedish company that make dive watches, anyone have any experience with them? Need to see if whether it's a knock off as well as it was so cheap!!
It's a big solid watch regardless of whether it's a copy or not, 46mm case width and 10mm thick

Poseidon is a dive gear company. I don't think they make or made their own watches but farmed them out to other companies. The newer ones are quite pricey, so don't know if there was a market in knock offs for the vintage ones. Edit.

looks like it is made by Capella

  9. The more I look at it the more it grows on me, I will give the stainless a polish up and then decide whether to keep it or not

  10. I don't wear watches, but almost pulled a trigger when stumbled upon Ferro on Kickstarter. Love the idea of single hand

I have a couple of vintage from evilbay.

Jobin incabloc, 17 jewels, winder from the 60's, keeps time within a few seconds per day and cost less than a posh nato strap!

A citizen auto from the 80's, Keeps ok time sometimes goes rogue on days....I wear it in the workshop with a rubber strap looks smart on a nato also out and about....

Finally having got the mechanical bug, needed something waterproof for my 2 wheeled activities and camping. Picked this up in a mega mega sale for about 1/4 retail price. Kinda wanted the all black IP one, but this was half the price..... So far I really love it, seems amazing for the money and its very pretty I think ;)

Orient Mako orange Ray.... Good job I didn't go for anything bigger than 41mm it only just fits under my leathers....

So far I think it's great , very smooth movement and is keeping very consistent time, to like 2-5 seconds per day, will see how it copes with a whole day on the motorbike. Hand finishing blades is a great way to keep these wound up;)

I have an Orient mako as my daily wear and it is a great piece. Going on a year of abuse and still works like a champ. Dont know how it will do with the constant vibration of a long ride but interested to find out.

  15. Just a cheap Sekonda today with a nice leather strap I fitted, much better than the flimsy stainless strap it had before and really improves the look of the watch:)

  16. A nice little junk shop find today. Citizen Promaster, did a reset on it and the date went to 1994 so looks like it's almost vintage:D
Everything working fine on it as well:) Might throw a Nato strap on it and see how it looks

Yes I think its getting comical too. Its like the nowadays cooks school graduates, size and style but zero meaning or quality.

Another thing is, when I went to buy my daily wear. 39mm
    [IMG]

People at the watch shop looked at me like Im crazy for asking about winding movements.
The only thing they could provide within a reasonable budget was a Maurice Lacroix. Nothing for me. Or the automatic.

  18. Found 3 more watches this morning in the same shop that I found the Promaster.
    3.JPG

Citizen Scuba Fin, like the watch but not the strap!
    3.2.JPG

Citizen Promaster 200m Diver, nice compact diver with a case around 39mm
    3.1.JPG

And finally a Seiko Kinetic Sports 200, again a not huge at around 40mm. Gave it a good shake earlier as it was doing the 2 second jump thing saying it was low on power, 5 hours later and the power reserve meter says it's holding fine:)

Very pleased with the finds and they were very cheap as well!!
