A glaring omission, if you ask me.

Feel free to move this to its own sub forum. IMG_3950.JPG IMG_3949.JPG

Maxim is a good buddy to have. I'm really interested in his new synthetic red aoto, but shipping is a killer. If anyone else is interested, let me know and maybe we could order two and reach the minimum for free shipping. We could split the cost of me shipping to you in the U.S.

I agree. I would love to see a sharpening forum on here! Trying to get kasumi finishes figured out.

Yes we definitely need a sharpening forum. So much to learn/try and get addicted to :D

One more vote for a sharpening, sharpening stones and other sharpening equipment forum. I'm especially interested in a home for discussions about japanese natural stones. For knives there is plenty of info and sources around the web, but knowledge about natural sharpening stones and usage/workflow seems to be scarce and scattered everywhere. Having such a forum would attract new members, who desperately search the net for this kind of info, as well.

Takashima Koppa. I haven't got it all figured out but it puts a serviceable edge on my knives. Haven't been able to get it to pass a HHT on my razors. Going to try a chu nagura instead of a diamond plate to get a different slurry.

Heh, I have 2 Takashima Koppa's, I use a 1200 DMT slurry stone on mine, liked that better than the Nagura's I have here! LOL. You may prefer the nagura vs slurry stone/diamond plate. Each stone is different (and why I have 13 different J Nats from Aoto up to Ozuka Asagi!!).
