I have a set of serrated steak knives that just don't do the job.

Do any of you experts have any suggestions for a set of good steak knives that can be sharpened?

:oops:Embarassingly enough, I use the steak knives from one of those Miracle Edge 3 knife sets I got my parents when I was still in college over 10 years ago, haven't needed sharpening.

We have a set of 6 Case (brand) round tip steak knives that are not serrated.

We've had them 40+ years now and no complaints

They are stainless with wood handles. Can't remember if they are full tang... doubt it.

I am sure they are no longer made (went to the Case web site and all they list now for steak knives are serrated but they have large serrations which should be easy to sharpen).

Digging around online I was able to put together this pic of 4 (missing 2). No point digging mine out for a pic of something this common.

There are lots of forgecraft steak knives on ebay.

I have a set from Butch Harner. They are easy to sharpen, and get sharp as heck.

I'm looking for non-serrated steak knives as well. Found Tojiro DP Steak Knife 120mm to be interesting. Can someone recommend similar ones from a different brand?

I own a set (of 4) of Shun classic and a set (of 4) of Hiro with Brazillian wood handle from JCK. They are both nice.

The thought of dragging a good sharp knife over a plate just feels so wrong.

Cook your steak right and all you need is a butterknife.

If one of those is mine, it would work very well!

That's why we picked up some maple plates a friend of BoardSmith made.
