    Another day, another shave:)

Today I kinda felt like a kamisori.
This one is a Brian Brown custom.
I recently honed it up on a Botan-Tenjou-Koma progression followed by a haze of Tomo-nagura on a Nakayama Maruka Kiita.
Followed that with a good stropping on my Kanayama #90000.
    Thing is sharp!
The brush du jour was my old Rooney's finest, soap was Martin de Candre..

No-one is gonna catch me scruffy if I can help it:)
Another custom razor for todays shave.
This one is a Tim Zowada pattern welded razor.
    It's a full 8/8 with a lovely Spanish point.
The brush, a high mountain white badger made by Plisson, is superb.
If I had to keep just one, this would probably be it.
Acqua di Parma cream, ASB and Cologne finished this wonderful half hour in the shave-cave.

    :)
It sure seems Tim found his formula and stuck with it.
I have a couple more from him, and they are all, as you say, very recognizable.

Today I went with a Charlie Lewis Custom frameback sizing in at a full inch width.
Paired with some Martin de Candre soap and some Bond no. 9 Wall street Cologne, I'm left feeling like a million bucks:)

  7. I wish to own one of Lewis creations one day. He is hands down my favorit razor maker. Very nice frameback Birnando.

A fine and slow weekend shave this morning.
The razor wasn't quite up to snuff, it will need a touch-up on the hones before next time.
Still, I'm clean shaven and ready for just about anything.

The razor is a Devin Thomas feather damascus that I got a few years back.
Scales are made from fossilized mammoth bone.
From what I understand it was the very first razor he made.

Right, an absolute stellar Sunday shave this morning. Charlie Lewis custom 8/8 fresh off my Nakayama Maruka Kiita. Cream and Cologne from Domenico Caraceni 1913. The very best cream ever made. Sadly, it is no longer made.

    Another slow morning shave today.

This razor, a custom 8/8 by Alex Jacques was the third custom I ever bought.
Loved it then, like it now.

The brush and software are all what I consider stellar:)
Castle Forbes Lime is sublime, both the cream and the ASB.
The Penhaligon's English Fern is definitely an acquired taste, especially for the Mrs:)
We both love it now thought, even if it took a while.

Brinando. You know for a man not loving damascus you have some very nice once :)

    Busted.
I was having a bet with myself on who would bring that up first:)
No, I don't hate pattern welded steel.
But no doubt, I find it way more appealing on straights than on larger knives like say a 270mm Gyoto.

I have at times likened it with a mullet.
But as the scripture says, we are all sinners right?

Here's yours truly a few decades ago;)

  19. Razor's: Erik Anton Berg Framebacks Ivory
    Brush: Mr.M Koa 24mm 2-Band Finest
    Soap: NnockOut's Complicated
    ASB: Bulldog
    AS: Gucci

Been a while since i post in the SOTD. This shave was nothing but stellar. Tried a new soap (KnockOut) and it was a plessure. Easy to lather, Great glid against the skin and a scent that gets a 10 from me. Unique Citrus/lime with sweet notes and not to powerful. Just fresh and right.

That's it for today Gents. Have a great weekend.

    /Magnus
