Shave today was with a Merkur Vision DE
    D. R. Harris Marlborough soap with a custom silvertip badger brush
    Clubman Pinaud Classic Aftershave.

  4. Finally! A thread that has really interesting stuff in it that doesn't give me acquisition disorder. Probably possible but not likely I would ever want to shave my legs with a straight razor. Although that damascus blade is really nice.

    Try a double edge Nancy...

  6. Is this like going snipe hunting... double edge straight razor?

I went for an outdoors shave today.
Did the head and the face with this Damascus Buddel Custom straight razor.
Xpec cream was my choice for cream today. Alongside Domenico Caraceni, the best cream ever produced. imho

  12. Wohoo Birnando i have waited long time to see your customs. that blade looks great is it a half hollow? the bevel is not super but i love the rest :D i have yet to try that Xpec cream.

It is closer to a 3/4 hollow grind. Out of all my customs, this is the one that came, and stays, the smoothest/sharpest. Love it. Tomorrow, a Tim Zowada me thinks;)

Oh, pick up a tub of Xpec, it is phenomenal.
And toss in the as-oil and their cologne as well. smashing stuff

  14. Sweet i just got back from a friend, we sat outside honing some razors in the sun and i put a jnat finish on his Tim Zowada 2h2h :D

Up and about bright and early this fine Sunday.
I started with a grand shave, nothing quite like starting the day off feeling like a million bucks.
Instead of one of my Zowada's, this one caught my attention today.

It is a Robert Williams 10/8 Singing Hollow in some lovely horn made from a sketch I sent him way back when.
A Manchurian badger by Simpson whipped up Al's shaving cream in a swift manner. Talk about a lather explosion.
Finished off with some Whitch Hazel and plenty skin food by Geo F. Trumpers

Today I went with this one.
It was my unicorn razor for a very long time
It is a Mastro Livi Custom in Mammoth Ivory scales.
This is an extreme razor, it dwarfs most any other out there, yet it shaves pretty darn well.
Takes a bit of practice to strop it though:) ml-1.jpg

  20. Razor: Heljestrand N17
Brush: Mr.M Amboyna Burl 2-Band TGN Finest
    Strop: Miller Custom Rattler. Horse&Linen
    Cream: T&H Grafton
    AS: T&H Grafton

Honed this razor on one of Mikael's Jnats from our last honing session in his garden. Shaved with today and it was a smooth and close shave!. Great & fun session! Thanks Mikael.
