Newbie looking for help

    Hi,
    I'm new to this forum and I've really enjoyed browsing around and I'm learning a lot.
    I have a specific question I'd like to ask, but I'm just not sure where the appropriate place for it is. I am really interested in getting some hands-on experience in the basics of knife-making, and I want to see if someone can suggest or point me towards people and spaces in my local area (New York Metro).
    I don't want to disrupt the forum with a question that may seem to other, more seasoned members as irrelevant in that particular space. So where is the best place for me to post such a request?
