My sister is heading to Charleston, SC on vacation and has asked me for good food stops in the area. Any suggestions? Comments & replies are greatly appreciated! THANKS! :jump

I asked about this a couple months ago and got some good responses, so if you search the results in that thread should still be timely.

D'oh -- never mind. That was on, uh, another KKF forum

  3. http://huskrestaurant.com/food/menu/ - I prefer brunch to dinner; either way, make reservations early. Get the fried chicken skins and the pig ear apps. Great burger, very good shrimp and grits. The butter that comes with your bread is whipped with lard - yummm... Service can be spotty. If possible, try to get a table out on the second-floor patio if the weather is nice.

http://167raw.com/charleston/ - you will have to wait (no res). It will be worth it.

http://eattheordinary.com/ - exceptional seafood, housed in a former bank.

http://www.eatatfig.com/ - The Ordinary's sister restaurant. Fabulous - make reservations ASAP. Walk-ins can sit at the bar, but it's small and fills up quickly.

http://leonsoystershop.com/ - awesome fried chicken and char-grilled oysters.

http://edmundsoast.com/drink/ - 40+ beers on tap, great bar snacks, good charcuterie and cheese list, terrific desserts.

    HTH! :D

Margaritas, prosciutto & fig appetizer, sangiovese wine, red snapper & suckling pig were all a huge success!!! Again, thanks to all for the replies.
