Homemade Granola with chilli?

Discussion in 'Food and Drink' started by shownomarci, Feb 18, 2015.

  1. I know it sounds crazy but quite nice as long as you don't overdo it.
Fed up making sandwiches or cooked dinners so i thought i make a bit of granola.
    Frying pan on the fire
    - 150gr chunk of butter (that's all i had)
    - same amount (150gr) of brown sugar in goes as well
    - about 3-4 tbs golden syrup pured onto it
    - 275gr oats (finished off the bag)
    - big handful of raisins
    - big handful of mixed seeds (pumpkin seeds, linseed, sesame seeds)
    - and pinch of chilli flakes just for the sake of adventure :)
    Medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Take it off the heat when golden.
Pour it onto a tray lined with a greaseproof paper and stir it 'til it cools down a bit.
Will look like the shop bought one with nice crunchy clusters but taste much better.
    Job done.
    Enjoy!

I love home made granola. The chili sounds really interesting--will have to remember to try that next time.
