  1. good day

here's a gyuto I just finished up, this is the largest kitchen knife I've done.
hand forged and quenched in water, Takefu white steel core.
handle by @nicestslice, I added the silicon bronze ferrule and butt cap.

    comments and criticism welcome

WOW!!! Nice etch...... beautiful knife....... mirror the concerns on the handle weight, though.
  4. thanks
the total weight comes in at 248 grams which I believe is reasonable for this size knife.
The handle is not slim but it's not blocky either
The handle was carefully managed to balance the weight of the blade and it's length.
It's a stabilized wood so it didn't have the density of a hardwood.
So the silicon bronze pieces also helped our balance the the handle and knife.

If you have specific suggestions I'd love other then as this is my first time with a large blade like this.
