There is a reason I can't keep the pounds off. My wife bakes....a lot

The only thing I bake from scratch is my biscuits, and that's just so I have something to soak up my gravy :D

I LOVE fresh baked bread, I really should learn to make myself a loaf,... of course then I would need a knife for it

I really need to start baking again, much better than premade.

When I was eating Gluten Free products I did bake my own bread/rolls, much better that what was available premade.

For some reason, I can't make bread worth feeding to the birds. I'll have to check out your book Andy.

We love making bread with the kids.
Last time my wife made bread the kids coloured it purple with food colouring.
    It's fun and tasty!

Baking is just something I never did, its not hard though with some world class artisianal bakers moments from my doorstep.

I do envy the talent here though for sure.

I own a t-shirt with Julia Child on it, if that tells you anything. I grew up watching her on PBS, and she's been a huge influence for me, especially for desserts and baking.

Start baking, James. The ladies like that about a man.

Has anyone tackled bagels? I've done them a couple of times and they were pretty decent, but judging from what I've seen so far, H&H probably has nothing on some of you.

I've done bagels a couple times. Some of the best books I have for formulas and techniques are Peter Reinhart, I know there are many dedicated to different types of baking, but for me his make sense.
