P1090863.JPG Bacon infused smoked turkey. Last year's Thanksgiving was the best we've ever had. That's straight out of the oven. There was hardly any liquid in the pan because it was all still in the bird. First time I ever had moist turkey leftovers days later.

    Anyway, bacon.

So that must be this turkey bacon thing I keep hearing about.

I dunno. It's just a smoked turkey with thick-cut smoked bacon on top. Well, I say "just." I work at Oregon State University, and we have a meat center on campus. A meat center! They're open every Friday and sell all sorts of interesting things throughout the year. At Thanksgiving they sell smoked turkeys for charity. Easiest bird I've ever cooked (i.e., warmed up) and the tastiest.

What brand of pan is that in your OP, Jim?

Looks like a Lodge pan, though I could be mistaken.

How do you guys cook your bacon? I've been drawn to baking it in the oven, because it's clean, and does a great job at batch cooking, for work. At home, I still fry it, though, and think it's hard to give up.

Official meat? Why stop there? We can do scented candles, shaving soaps, our own brand of grease. The opportunities are almost limitless!

    Sounds great!
If bacon isn't the answer, then you're asking the wrong question :D

I thought it looked like one of their thinner pans, which is what I may be after.
