That Japanese Kitchen Knives book is a great score; it's really well done.

No opening presents here for a few more hours. Pretty sure mine will be espresso-centric, since my wish list was a new tamper, basket and bottomless portofilter :) The only kitchen stuff I think will be some spoons from Queen City Knives I picked up for my wife.

  8. Yes!

I opened a giant pack of work gloves, beard oil, and some legit hot sauces!

I want to see that new forge Mert.

No tree here, but I received some knives for myself...unfortunately I've made mostly bad choices.

We put a right budget on our gifts, but my wife really was clutch, and I got a set of Nicholson files, some carpentry pencils, a bright yellow "wood marker", and a tool bag for my wood finishing gear. She came through pretty huge. :)

  13. When you wear down those files, you know where to send them :)

My wife and I have a bad habit of buying what we want when we see it....does not leave much room for gifts. We usually dont do anything for Christmas but really look forward to the kids opening presents.

My son got this cool snap circuit board to build different electric connections. We played with it almost all day. (In between the girlies tea parties of course)

My bride must have seen me fooling with mustard seeds and ran with the idea.. I really do blame Mike.

We also don't do much for Christmas gifts, and either get something for the 2 of us or get things during the year when we see something we really like. It's taken a lot of the pressure off, and we can just enjoy the holiday. This was our first year without any Christmas tree at all, tho. That was a little rough.
