    Hello all.
My name is Rob and after reading through the forum for the past year i thought it would be polite to introduce myself.

I am a keen home cook and once worked in a kitchen for about 5 years in my early 20's. (Now 47) While working in kitchens i spent most of my time helping chefs with food prep, chopping up bags of onions, carrots and potatoes, boxes of mushrooms etc and preparing soups, sauces and most dishes.

I think my appreciation of knives started with a love of sharpening and experimenting with different types of edges and how that translated to cutting performance. I have collected high end folding knives for many years and mostly owned "decent" kitchen knives. Its only in the last couple of years i developed a passion for Japanese style knives.
Like most of my interest, two years in and its become a bit of a passion(obsession:) I have a nice collection of knives from James at K&S and quite a few customs from makers around the world.
Looking forward to learning more and chatting about food and knives.

    Regards Rob.
