    Good Morning folks. Not a newbie to knives, newbie to this forum. I heard rumors about other forums and might or might not have been visible there ;)

    I am German born, US based (NYC) ... my wife got me into knives when she bought me a decent Kobayashi Santoku instead of a Global that I wanted for my birthday, after Anthony Bourdain shamelessly promoted them in his book. I think wifey regrets the decision LOL.

    Currently I am in the process of getting my first customs, and three of them at once. Reason being that I wanted to get something to hand down to my son eventually, an heirloom piece. He was born in NYC to Catalan and German parents, so I am getting a knife made in NY, one in Germany and one in Catalonia.

    Anyhow, that's my story ...
