    Welcome @Daniel Cauble

Please join me in welcoming our newest member, Daniel Cauble. We are happy to have you as part of our community.
Why not start by telling us something about yourself!

  2. Hello all! I have been into knife making for almost 2 years now, and forging in general for 3 years. My interests have peaked with kitchen cutlery, namely in the Japanese styles.

I have in the past year been working a lot of pattern weld, and even more sanmai and gomai constructions, with even using pattern weld as the cladding material.

My current set up has received an upgrade with proper radius platen to my KMG for my future with single beveled knives. My power hammer is currently receiving an upgrade with Japanese style dies for intensive blade work without the need of top tools, which will increase my efficiency.

Hope to display some here soon. Thanks!

  7. Hello Daniel! Good to see you over here! For those of you who are impatient...you can see some of Daniel's work over on Blademiths's forum. He's going to be a welcome addition I think!

    :D

  8. Thanks a lot guys. And good to see you Cris! Had no idea you were here :) Thanks!

As soon as my dies are done and I am back in the groove, I will start pumping out some W2 and Blue #2 Gyutos for all to see :)

  11. Absolutely! This is pretty much my home on the internet lol. The people are more than just great, and if you get with Jim and buy the Pro Craftsman tag you'll get your own forum and the privilege of posting your work for people to appreciate and purchase. For the minimal price he charges, it's so, so worth it.

Again, glad to see you here my friend...I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I do :).

All right! Welcome Daniel. Looking forward to seeing your work.

  13. Thanks Cris. I plan on getting the tag soon. I took a short hiatus from blades as my dies are in the shop being machined. In the wait I have been forging Japanese style cutler hammers like crazy. Should be a few weeks out. My brother is the machinist doing the work, so I only get it worked on when he has free time. The price of free - sloooowww....

It's ok. I have flat dies for him to machine for my 200# Bradley :) that'll put him to work!!
