Maple and Padouk set

Discussion in 'Houston Edge Works' started by Pennman88, Sep 25, 2015.

  1. 260mm CPM 154CM gyuto and 100mm AEBL paring with reciprocal blue dyed quilted maple and Padouk. Orange G10 insert with blue and black trim. Custom leather saya to hold both. Went to chef at Auburn a University so had to have school colors.

How does putting two knives in one sheath work out? Do they each have their own pocket in the sheath?
If not wouldn't they bang/scrape against each other?

    beautiful

  7. They have their own separate spaces with enough leather between for clearance of the 260mm blade when it's withdrawn not to bump the paring and pull it out as well.

    Thanks gentlemen for the compliments!

Thanks for the info. I figured that might be the case. I've never seen a double sheath before so I had to ask

Chef Niloc (a member on several other forums) made this sheath for his use.

And there was one with three pockets for Randy Haas' Dragonslayers:
