Fillet knife - AEBL and Ironwood

Discussion in 'Brock Cutlery' started by Mark Brock, Dec 20, 2018.

  1. I've been working on this one for a while. Made from robust stock, but full taper to tip. It has perfect flex, not flimsy.
    Nickel silver bolts.
That is not a hamon, just an odd reflection of light.

I have two more of these to finish if someone is interested. Could be handled in Ironwood, black Ebony, Macassar Ebony, or my stabilized oak.

Better pics to follow at some point...

  3. Thanks Jim. These are the specs:
7.5 inch blade. Overall 12.5 inches
63 Rockwell. Could chip if you tried to chop a thick backbone, but I opted for edge retention on this one, so just have to go easy on the bones.
I might do a youtube vid on it, but I don't have any fish at the moment. :\

Hey Jason, I'll see if I can get the wife on board for some Roosevelt Lake fishing. It's the last nice weekend before some weather hits.
