We have a handful of forum members getting together in Sterling next Saturday at a car club shop event. The club event is from 9 am -2 pm, but since it will be a little hectic the first hour KKFers should plan on arriving at 10 am or later.

You can mill around in the shop and check out a couple dozen mainly German sports cars, including getting a look while they are up on lifts for inspection. And the shop owner also builds and installs brewery equipment, so there is a good tie-in with the food/ knife world.
Besides checking out/ learning about some cars, it's a great opportunity to show a little of the high-performance kitchen knife world to another group that has had little exposure. There should be one where people can show off a knife or two, but nothing like the normal GTG knife amount due to the limited space. Plus Butch harner will be there from ~10 am - 2 pm, so it's a great chance for people to get to talk to him and see some of his knives.
While the shop typically provides some doughnuts/ coffee in the morning and grills some dogs/ burgers for lunch for the car club people, so we'll have to supplement a bit to make sure the forum members are covered. Later in the week I'll probably pick up some hunk of meat that can be precooked or broken down and quickly cooked on the grill.

    Here is the address:
    SportsCar Shop
    45759 Elmwood Ct, Suite 150
    Sterling, VA 20166
Parking outside the shop is usually tight; plan on parking on the side of the street outside the fence that surrounds the complex. The shop is straight ahead through the gate.

Please keep in mind there will be cars pulling in and out of the shop constantly, and lots of car parts, etc. around, so this is not a great venue to bring younger children (also, all attendees must sign an insurance waiver). As far as spouses/ SOs go, if you have one who both loves cars and kitchen knives, well then congratulations! and feel free to bring them along.
