Any recommendations on a 3V battery for a flashlight? Right now its using one by Surefire. Are there better ones out there?

    Yep that will do it.
The other option is to purchase rechargeable batteries.
    They would be RCR123.

Your run time will be less with rechargeable but of course over time costs would be reduced.

Unprotected batteries will get weaker and give you a heads up they are going dead

Protected batteries just shut off when the reach a certain voltage. For flashlights unprotected is fine.

It is a feature built into the batteries to protect sensitive electronic equipment. If you browse through the various rechargeable batteries you will see both types listed. Either will work.

Use rechargeables for just about everything now that needs batteries. From AAA to 26650 lithium ions.

I bookmarked that stuff but while at Lowe’s I found the Surefire batteries and bought a 2 pack. Will hold me over until I order the rechargeable.

Its nice that that the size is now much more available. A few years ago you had to go to a camera shop and pay $$$.
