How to store knives?

How do y'all store your knives that don't have sheaths or some other holder.
I don't want them all willy nilly in a drawer. The only thing that seems to make sense are those magnetic wall mount holders. Any other options?

In knife blocks. In drawers. On cutting boards. Laid out in roasting pans. In the unopened shipping boxes. At other peoples' houses/ restaurants on long-term loans. Probably have a few 'stored' in some other manner as well.

We had/ have some magbloks, but no wall space in the kitchen to mount them.

You are only limited by your imagination.

Just something about keeping super sharp knives in a drawer all piled on top of each other that doesn't sit right with me. I think it has the potential to dull the knives faster I guess.
That's how I keep my knives now....in the "knife drawer". None of them are great knives. But I'm bout to replace them all and was just thinking of other ways to store them.

Probably gonna go with the Dexter Russel knives. Inexpensive yet durable and will suit my casual needs.

Also, take out the non-knife stuff from the drawer. All flat blades will reduce banging around.
