so i have some reject steak knives and we were out on a dinner cruise. we didnt need them but had then just in case. and it came to me they look like crap cause they were test mules. told her i really should make us a set of knives and forks for when we go out. so the real question is who has hand made dinner forks (not meat/BBQ forks) looking for inspiration

Not me but it's a very interesting idea!

Oh man, I can just see getting three slices on my tongue from nicely-sharpened fork tines :D

Not sure what would make a fork worth buying. Custom handle pattern? Forks are inexpensive, and things like edge retention, toughness, etc. aren't really factors. Sure, make some with those reject knife blades, because "why the hell not", but in general I suspect handmade forks will not be a money-maker.

0 plan to make them to sell just to flex when going out for dinner with Kel. matching set of fork and knife woudl make others less uneasy about the people that bring knives to the steak house or the sunset dinner cruise. matching koa handles woudl likely be the go to. thnking a more slender blade then my normal steak knife to make packaging the carry case smaller
note the reject steak knives have been bumping around here for years cause a steel supplyer wanted me to test a steel and the handle scales look like crap adn are pulling up from the tang of the blade from so much use and stablizing from a Co that was not K&G. form that point on i only use k&G and WSSI

For your own use, definitely why the heck not -- especially if going with wood handles.

Just tell the restaurant peeps you and Kelly are Pentecostal ministers, and your faith does not allow you to touch cutlery that has been handled by heathens. Even better tell them they risk eternal damnation for handling the restaurant cutlery themselves. And you can save them if they allow you to perform a ceremony where you drape them with poisonous snakes. That will stop them from asking too many questions about the knives and forks :D
