  1. Here are some stones that I wanted to keep but knife bills that were expected for after January just came much earlier so some of my nicest stones have to go. All stones are sealed with three coats of marine lacquer on the sides and bottom except for the double sided Ipponmatsu that is only lacquered on the sides. All prices are including PayPal and excluding shipping, I would make a discount if there’s no PayPal fees.

First off is an absolutely stunning Mizugihara Uchigumori with a super cool wagyu pattern. Very good size. This Uchi is on the hard side but not super fine, feels a bit harder than my Oohira cuhigumori from Watanabe that is HS 51 so I’m assuming it would be 53-55 but in layman’s scale this is about lvl 3.75 I guess. It benefits from the use of a nagura or kicking some slurry with Atoma to get it going but it’s not needed, I usually work up the mud with the wide bevel without any atoma slurry but it takes a few minutes of patient work and controlling the water. Stamps are gone and stone is almost completely flat except a couple spots at the bottom and top but they don't bother me for sharpening or polishing. The stone is sealed with three coats of marine lacquer on the sides and bottom.

Second is another thing of beauty, Beautiful tomae redish and yellow colour with a bit of namazu. It’s a bit porous and thirsty for a finisher. Around lvl 3, super smooth feedback and easy to make slurry, the slurry is a beautiful creamy colour and transitions to more khaki. Very gentle polisher and extremely consistent grit, gives a good contrast and a very hazy finish, not much in the way of mirror polishing. It’s not the fastest stone out there but if you clean up well before getting to this stone or are patient enough you can get a beautiful finish. The stone is sealed with three coats of marine lacquer on the sides and bottom.

Another big stone at 205x73x29mm, 1028g

Third is a rare and gorgeous Ikimurasaki Tomae from Mt Ipponmatsu with a kan (ring) pattern that becomes visible aftersplashing with water, the backside has some namazu. This stone is double sided and I’ve only used the back side to sharpen. Look at the pictures, the beauty of this one speaks for itself. It’s around lvl 3-3.5, makes a beautiful creamy coloured slurry that turns khaki. The stone feels dense but the slurry is super slick and the feedback is smooth as a baby's butt, it’s an absolute pleasure to sharpen on this stone. The finish is quite fine and very consistent as you can see in the pictures. Edge is supper keen but retains enough tooth to use around the kitchen. If this stone was bigger I would have to be saying of hunger to sell it. The stone is sealed with three coats of marine lacquer on the sides only.

And last is the one I want to sell the least. Another brick, a beautiful greenish and brown Asagi with cool patterned surface and different coloured layers waiting to be uncovered. This stone is hard, the hardest of the lot, I would say lvl 4 or so. Can auto-slurry but it takes some dedication, I prefer to use a nagura or fine atoms to rise some slurry and make it work smoothly. The stone is very fine more than 8K grit for sure. The finish from this stone is a beautiful semi mirror with a nice contrast and the edge is super keen. I love to deburr on this stone. Not mad at all if this one has to stay with me even though I normally don’t get too attached to asagi stones.
