Cookie(s) used for user name/password

Discussion in 'The Off Topic Room' started by mark76, Nov 17, 2017.

  1. Can anyone tell me which cookies (name) are used by the site to store my user name and password?

I regularly use CCleaner (great) to clean up my computer, but I can exclude the cookies used by web sites. This works well, except for this web site.

    Hence my question.

    Thanks!

  4. Thanks Anton, but unfortunately I have no cookies called xf_session and xf_user, even though I am logged in (and have even restarted my browser).

  5. OK, I did some more research and now I'm absolutely positive that it's only the xf_session cookie that is responsible for auhtorization.
I haven't tried disabling cookies… maybe in this situation forum engine will have some sort of fallback, but in normal situation it just track users using session id that is stored in xf_session

Mark, using Firefox... ccleaner v5.37 simply shows kitchenknifefora.com in saved cookies.

  7. Thanks! Using Chrome it does so, too.
