Series finale was tonight. I was genuinely smiling at how they wrapped it up and segued into Mary (Mark) Read's intro.

I was late catching onto this series, watched the first 2 seasons binge style (as they call it). Got hooked into it, yes pun intended, and really enjoyed the series. I'm not a pirate-phile by any means, I just enjoy good entertainment. There's really not much on the tube that I watch, so I get excited when something like this comes across.

It's also fitting as this weekend was Privateer Fest in Baltimore. All weekend there were droves of Pirates and Vikings filling the streets partying it up. My wife came by my restaurant today with our daughters so they could see the shows. My oldest, 3yrs old, was super excited to see the pirates. We even bumped into some friends of ours that we had no idea were big into pirates. But seeing their outfits it was clear this wasn't their first outing.

I can only imagine that the bars were packed come 9pm with all the tvs tuned in to show the grand finale of Black Sails. I could very well be experiencing FOMO for the first time in my life. How could a bar full of Pirates watching a show about pirates not be amazing?

Anyway, awesome series finale. I won't ruin it for others, but I will say it was far from disappointing.

    Cheers

  2. Enjoyed the whole series but then I'm kinda fond of long blades with Lusty Busty Sea wenches! LOL

Wait, what? It's a pirate party in Baltimore. Dang. I missed it, my kids would have loved that.

haha, yes indeed. And it'll be back next spring! Come down and enjoy the festivities.

The year prior it was held in the parking lot of an office building I park in.
Sunday morning I walked through the lot and very much enjoyed over hearing many hungover pirates regale their tales of the night prior. They were still in "character", even at 7:30am with what seemed to be a unanimous massive hangover. God bless them.
