Belt rack and tool arm rack

Discussion in 'Shop Talk' started by Mark Brock, Dec 26, 2016.

  1. Here are a couple of shop items I built to help me organize a bit in the shop. These are made of wood, cheap, and pretty easy to implement, and they have been a real help to me so I wanted to share them.

For this tool arm rack I used a pretty nice piece of plywood that was reasonably priced at home depot. I used oak for the slot spacers and just screwed it with deck screws.

Funny, you can see the pile of belts behind this. I had them hung on everything they could hang on. This was my solution, built on a rolling furniture dolly from home depot. It is double sided and has 16 pegs for belts. This gets them out of my way when I am not grinding, and helps organize them as well.
It is sturdy as is, but I will probably brace it up a bit very soon.

  4. Just wait until you see his 'used' pile, lol. I've got probably double that that I dig through to rough in profiles, then about that many newish that are still good for actual grinding.

Belts are the crappiest part of this craft...truly. You could have a whole shop full of belt organizer racks...and they'd STILL make a freaking mess!!
