Well it sounds like I need to give a shout out to Doug for the fantastic ice cream base than!

You had knives for sale yesterday?!? Dang, guess I should have walked around and look at everything a bit more closely. All those knives, yet I barely spent time looking at the tables.

BTW, Bill13 definitely co-shared the hosting even though the event was at my house. He worked quite a bit over the past few weeks. The smoked/ BBQ'd pork shoulders, BBQ sauce, dry-aged NY strip roast and watermelon salad were all from him, and he also brought over a bunch of folding tables and other supplies. So thanks, Bill!

Lots of people pitched in with food and drink. It definitely raised the bar. No one arrived empty-handed, and there was a lot of really good food. Thanks to all who were able to attend!

So much going on, it was hard to keep up with who had/did what! Wish I could've stayed for Bill's steaks though, I'm sure they were quite delicious. His bbq pork and sauce were downright awesome. I had multiple servings of that.

Overall just glad I could make it. Good times indeed.

I started to make a list of my top 5 things from the ECG, and had to stop when I reached 15. Turned out to be a futile exercise paring it down to that few.

Looks like I missed out on cookies, ice cream, and wine.

Oh and some good company and amazing knives!

Looked like y'all had a great time. BBQ and mad scientist ice cream! What more could you want?
Hope to make it again next year.

Missing the steaks was a mistake...

  10. I was kicking myself for not taking any pictures of the food, perfect compliment to the knives in attendance. Thanks again to Dave and Bill for putting this together and to everyone else for spending so much time making some seriously awesome eats. Considering how much food I packed in on Sunday, it's a good thing these get togethers don't happen more frequently!

Ate Tommy's Thai-style broccoli and Dennis's mashed potatoes for lunch today, and Leah ate Son's sashimi-grade tuna. Luca chowed down on Bill's BBQ pork for dinner. I had Doug's drunken carrot cake for dessert, and am now kickin' back sipping some of Son's mandarine pepper liquour while looking over the nice pics of the event. Life is good.

That mandarine liquor was delicious. Son poured me some but once I set my glass down it disappeared. So I found the bottle and poured myself another glass. I set it down to cut something (other than my finger) and the Damn glass disappeared again!

BTW, 3 jackets and a pull-over sweater were left behind. 2 of the jackets have since been claimed. Anyone missing a jacket or sweater? The jacket was down in the den and the sweater was with the coolers in the kitchen.
