Maumasi Fire Arts back in the Fora saddle again!

Hey everybody!

I just wanted to say a quick what's up and let you all know that I'm an Official member of your Fora again. I think you guys have an awesome community here that I am super stoked at becoming a part of! If anyone has any questions, thought or comments for me be sure to tag me, @MaumasiFireArts, so I'm sure to see what you have to say.

Things have been wild and crazy over the past year. With the help of friends family and some of you very fine folks I was able to raise some well needed capital for putting together my own shop. It's up and rockin' and rollin' now and I've been plugging away since. My latest news is that I took a little trip to Brooklyn, NYC and will shortly be featured on the History Channel's new competition series "Forged In Fire". My episode airs August 3rd and based off what they've been showing so far it'll be pretty cool to see what they've done for my episode. I'll expand on that later in future thread though.

I've gotta get grinding on a billet right now, but I'll be sure to get some up as soon as I possibly can. Here're a couple for now.

Not a culinary knife, but a knife non the less. I just built this baby about 2 months ago. I made the steel while paying a visit to Bill Burke last November.

D handled Chevron Damascus Euro Chef with integral bolster

Hexagon handled Damascus Santoku with integral bolster

My wife's and my matching wedding bands made of Explosion Damascus with matching cake knife.

Little 7" Straight carbon Gyuto, brass bolster, maple burl handle with dyed purple redwood burl spacer and brass rivet. this was the first culinary knife I ever made all on my lonesome. I was still working for BK at the time.

Turning Tides Damascus K-tip Gyuto with "Wa/D" hybrid handle and integral bolster.

This is the first knife I made under my own moniker. Dave Lisch made the steel and I did the rest. I hope I find another piece of wood like that one again.
