all of my drunken sharpening jobs have been extremely successful. we should change this label to say otherwise.

Drunk sharpening is the best sharpening.

Being drunk is fun and sharpening is also fun... that lable is probably written and printed by a idiot! :D

I try to sharpen sober , but during handsanding I rely on wine more than I do on wd 40

  5. Oh, you guys are mean!
Lucrecia, don't listen to them, obviously they have no idea about sharpening. Your stones aren't safe to use without such sticker, so you'd better send them to me for examination and get yourself a new ones (with the sticker of course).

When I am drunk and sharpening I often use the sticker warning side up to strop. Just load it up with some CrO and you're off .

And yes, I do drink when I sharpen. No accidents yet, but to be honest, it is more likely that I have had some wine during prep, and that is a much more dangerous situation than sharpening on stones. Doing everything sober in life is for pussies.

Mikey, I almost added a "wear steel toed boots" comment just for you, but it seemed kind of like telling people not to trim hedges with a lawn mower. :D

Making fun of lansky warning label. It's ok . I leave of post it on my knife bundles after I sharpen them with a skull and cross bones and the note "Caution ! Very sharp! " How many of you have graciously sharpened for someone and later got a response: " Hey! I cut myself! Those were sharp! " ? Really , I had no idea

Then you have to remind them that they need to stop cutting themselves because sharp knives are supposed to be safer.

Just reminds me that the last stupid label I saw, was for some fireworks, and the only warning was, "do not ingest"

How about the ones on propane tanks that say keep away from open flame?

There definitely should be an amendment to the warning "do not hold" such as "do not hold with hands, or any other body part/cavity" :k The videos out there are frightening.

I thought being under the influence was mandatory for proper sharpening! Not sure I could do it sober.

  16. I cannot count the people that have cut themselves after my sharpening jobs.

I think an elementary school can help you with that problem.

  18. My favorite are the pharma drug ads that say "do not take if you are allergic to [drug] or any of its ingredients". Well goddamn duh!
