I covet the fancy spoons. I don't even really like Damascus knives, but I need a blingy spoon.

I have a Grey Kunz, and the full set of Ruhlman knives, and several very good perforated spoons, and I like all of them. Not sure I could spend so much money on spoons, honestly. :)

It's really no harder than spending money on knives :D

Great. Now I need a damascus spoon. I totally didn't know that this morning when I got up.

That's honestly a big part of it. She rolled her eyes at the Ruhlman spoons, and they aren't expensive (they take up a lot of room, though, especially the egg spoon), but she has more or less come to grips with knife boxes arriving every so often.

  19. I know how you feel! I didn't even know they existed this morning.

My tasting/cooking spoons are all odds and ends picked up at flea markets and thrift stores because I like the size and feel of the spoon. None are remotely close to being a thing of beauty.

Maybe Jim will take pity on us and do a spoon subforum. Then I can ask somebody to make us some blunt end spoons that actually feel good in your hand. I like the working end of these blunt end spoons. Great for getting into the corners of saucepans or scraping up brown bits. Somewhere below uncomfortable in the handle department.

Of course, I don't like the high temp or silicone spoons either. They just feel creepy in your hand.
