    Welcome @Mike Aubrey

Please join me in welcoming our newest member, @Mike Aubrey. We are happy to have you as part of our community.
Why not start by telling us something about yourself!

  2. Glad to be a part of the great migration!

  3. I'm just a lowly home cook who can't stand the feeling of soft stainless on a cutting board.

I work for a nonprofit that serves indigenous and minority language communities (less than 1,000,000 speakers) around the world through literacy education, language documentation, and translation.

  4. So, bit of a random question, but how do you like the name Aubrey?

My wife has surgery scheduled for this Friday to remove a 4kg parasite that has been infecting her for almost 9 months. We haven’t fully decided on a name yet but we have “Aubrey” high on the shortlist for a middle name.

    Radiation enhanced botfly larvae??

  6. I like it.

You get fewer looks of confusion when its a first or middle name and not a last name.

That is very cool. Where are you located?

  8. Right now I'm in Illinois, but I spent five years in western Canada. Working on heading back to grad school for a PhD in linguistics, hopefully at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
