    OK, while I haven't done a damn thing to the blade yet we do have some movement on this since Jim scored a nice sambar stag roll for the handle material!

    You may not recall but we're going hidden tang on this so the tang will be ground down slightly and then I plan on heating it and hammering it into a curved shape to match the stag profile. I'll do my best to record some of that. ;)

    In case anyone is wondering why "sambar" stag vs just plain ole stag...

    Well, it's generally recognized as the premier stag to use on knife handles since it's very dense having a low ratio of soft marrow and/or hollow core and it's also known to finish/polish up nicely as well.
