Ahh neck knives. To be frank, I've never understood that. The first time I ever heard of a neck knife was here on KKFora. So the idea is they hang off your neck like a necklace? And "upside down" so to get the knife out you grab the handle and pull down.
Wouldn't that be heavy and also put some stress on your neck every time you yank it out of the sheath? And it would also require two hands to put back in. Unlike a pocket knife or belt knife.

They are really cool. But I think I'd rather have it on my hip. Then again, I've never tried it so.

  4. I believe most of the time they are intended more as a last ditch defensive tool type of thing rather than a normal use knife.

I got tired of regular folding knives wearing through the pockets of my trousers or fraying the tops of the pocket with clips, so I moved to a neck knife seven years ago and haven't looked back. The key, for me at least, is minimal size and weight. The first one I found to be acceptable was a Carter, but it was a little too thick and a little too heavy. I went through several more before I found my current neck knife - a Tom Krein Cicada in CPM 3V. It's light enough that I sometimes forget I'm wearing it. I've had it since 2013.
