    Gotta start somewhere right?
This should be a simple one. I'm looking for a pudding recipe. Chocolate or vanilla.

    What y'all got for me?

    Thank you!

That very well may be the simplest.
Maybe there isn't a difference between instant and homemade. ??

I have this long-standing desire that the next time I am invited to a pot-luck dinner I am going to bring pudding. BUT I want to bring the pudding in a sack. A nice clear bag full of pudding. I figure that after bringing a sack of pudding, no one in their right mind would ever ask me to bring anything to a pot-luck dinner again.

    k.

I cheated and had my mother make it for me since the folks are here checking in on their injured son. Turned out great! Tastes even better! It tastes rich but not sweet if that makes sense.
I'm going to save this recipe.

Oh yeah I added some whipped cream to my serving and that really sets it off.

Got this one from my sister in law... Said she got it on line, and it is quite good! (I haven't tasted it, but it sounds good!)

    Ingredients

    2 cups whole milk
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/3 cup natural cocoa powder
    4 teaspoons cornstarch
    3 large egg yolks
    2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    1/4 teaspoon fine salt
    3/4 cup whipping cream

    Directions

Put 1 1/2 cups of the milk, the sugar, and the cocoa in a nonreactive saucepan. Bring to a simmer, over medium-high heat. Remove from the heat.

Meanwhile, whisk the remaining 1/2 cup of the milk, cornstarch, salt, egg yolks, and vanilla in a bowl. Gradually whisk the hot milk into the egg mixture. Return to the saucepan and cook over medium-high heat whisking constantly, until the pudding comes to a full boil. Reduce the heat to maintain a simmer, and continue whisking until thick, about 2 or 3 minutes more.

Pour the pudding into 6 small cups. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or ideally overnight until set.

Just before serving pour the cream into a chilled bowl. Whip the cream with a whisk or a hand held mixer, and continue beating until soft peaks form. Take care not to over-beat the cream or it will be grainy. Serve each pudding with a dollop of whipped cream on top.

Or you could use the left over egg whites and making a meringue to bake on top of those puddings instead of the whipped cream.

Ooooo this one sounds yummy too. I wonder how adding the eggs will make a difference. We'll find out soon enough. Though not tonight. Probably not tomorrow either.
I'll have to forward this to my mother

You know, the skin that forms from leaving the pudding uncovered in the fridge? It was also a Seinfeld episode. George made pudding just for the skins LOL.

Dude! What ever happened to pudding pops! I loved those little things. A pudding pop and a coke, and I had boundless energy. With my trusty hatchet, there wasn't a tree safe when I was a kid. Haha!
