  3. The profile of the honesuke looks great with a very high grind! Although, I am not sure I like the faux-ivoire ferrule.

  4. Thanks! All the petty blades were made out of offcut pieces. I made them as an afterthought two days before the show hence why they look a bit simple. If done properly I would have gone for a thicker spine as well. Thanks for your comments :D

  5. Awesome work Chadd

  6. Here is a couple of photos of two sayas I am making. One is made of Bocote, the other Gabon Ebony. As you can tell, I use a milling machine for these processes. I could use a chisel and hammer but I find if I want to achieve perfect fitment of blades I need to be able to measure the depth of cut and thickness of the felt for friction fit.

  13. And here is the Gabon Ebony saya with RWL34 gyuto. Mostly just pretty pics, if anyone is interested I can upload a video of James from knives and Stones who used this and another knife at the sydney knife show, where he gave a review.

  16. Just finished up this Bocote Saya to match the Camatillo and Bocote handle on this SG2 core KS blade.

What do you guys think? Any thoughts on the blade, saya and/or handle?

    Are those saya felt lined?

  19. Sure are :) no one likes scratches on their hand finished knives :) soft cladding is horrible for it though. Plus it allows for a solid friction fit.
