Getting rid of pot scratches?

One of my many jobs around the house is doing the dishes. My wife is a great cook and often uses a multitude of pots and pans in her preparations. Invariably I leave scratch marks in the porcelain when I'm done scrubbing. I usually use Ajax or some other bleached cleaner to get them out. Just wondering if anyone has a better approach.

Barkeepers is all I use, but it does not always work. I ended up having to drop in a small wire rack in the sink I do the pots and pans in because I scratched it so much.
