Current 'Stock' Knives for Sale

Discussion in 'CJA Edged Art / Scorpion Forge' started by CrisAnderson27, Apr 23, 2015.

  1. Alright ladies and gentlemen! Today we have a 240mm W2 honyaki standard weight gyuto.

This one, is going to be pretty, lol.

Price starts at $975 for the complete knife with a dual taper handle...with handle options determining the final pricing. If someone were to buy it today, it's possible it could be finished before the end of the weekend. No wait.

This is the current state of the knife:

As I said, the bulk of the hard work has been done. If I finish it out myself it will likely be with bog oak and mokume, and will sell for either $1125, or just keep it. Truly, I think this one is going to be special.

  2. It does look great

  3. Thanks man! I'm considering keeping it lol. The grind is exceptional (tried a few new methods last night), and the hamon is gorgeous! I got two offers to buy it last night though...so we'll see what happens :).

  4. Ok lol, 240 is sold! :)

  5. Thank god temptation is removed. I had already started to google "black market organ sales"

  6. Haha!! How come everyone who talks to me about knives eventually mentions selling organs on the black market, lol?!

    :D :D :D

  9. And for the record, this is what 'stock' knives can look like when finished:

I was talking to @Cheeks1989 about the whole 'stock' thing, and he asked me why I call them that, since they're really pretty much full customs. I explained that 'stock' doesn't refer to the knife being 'factory' or 'without options'....lol. It refers to the knife being 'in stock' when its new owner buys it ;). Cheek's big 260XH gyuto was a 'stock' knife, as were @FinnEdge's suji and gyuto. Basically, they had been started for someone else, and for whatever reason, ended up available.

Hope that clears it up some :D.

  10. It's full blown custom and it's a great journey you go on from start to finish.

  11. @Cheeks1989 +1
