Not sure what good hoping that would be... -67 C is -88.6F. -67F would be -55C, that would be better, if better is even an option at those values... Where are my wool nut-socks...

    I can relate Pierre.
Had to wear a coat for a while this morning.
The high temperature here today was in the low 60s.

I'm glad I sanded those new blanks when I did. The way the weather is, it might have been April before I had another chance. I am so tired of the cold and the snow.

Not sure what the wind chill is, but folks are wearing jackets and it's 22°C here. Better stay inside so I don't get hypothermia.

Sorry Pierre. That is way way too cold for me! Although Seattle isn't cold I do know how unrelenting dreary weather affects the soul! Hope spring comes early for you!

I heard Seattle wasn't that bad. That It didn't rain as much as everyone says it does. True?

Depends on what you call rain. Misty, drizzling? Happens a lot. What everyone else calls rain? Doesn't happen much! The kind of stuff that drenches you in less than a minute. This year it's been drier. At least it has in Portland. But judging by how little snow all the resorts had prior to this month, looks like Seattle's been about the same! The air is damp though. Glad to be out of there!

If the rain doesn't kill you though, the Seattle Freeze will. Not the weather either. The people. It warranted a name and a newspaper article.

We visited the coast in Washington in the fall of 2012, a little town called Moclips,I loved it there. We hated the day we spent in Seattle, we definitely experienced the freeze. While we were on the coast, Seattle apparently had an unusual amount of rain. I was watching the news and there were wrecks and flash flooding, road closings and all sorts of distress. I was like "What the hell, doesn't it rain there all the time?". The lady at the little convenience store explained the mist vs rain situation.

Well I'd probably call mist and drizzle rain. If it will dampen my clothing and it's wet I'd say rain.
I had to Google Seattle Freeze. Sounds like something more associated with a small rural town.

I love Moclips! My friend has a little house there haha. I visit occasionally and make the run into the ocean then sprint for the hot tub. :D

Apparently with Tapatalk I can only quote one post at a time.

I usually find rural townsfolk to be quite welcoming. There are certainly some friendly Seattle people and others, they're nice to your face. Just don't expect much beyond that. Takes a lot to break in. Portland can be similar though. It's why I tend to be the opposite.

Not a terrible place to live, but traffic is bad and public transit gets worse with bottlenecks by water or major roads.

We stayed in a great little house right on the beach. Being an Okie and never having seen the Pacific Ocean, I had to go swimming, even though it was late October. We drove up to and around Lake Quinault, saw the world's largest spruce tree, and damned near decided to go live in the woods. I still miss that place.

It's a beautiful and magical place. The high alpine lakes are fantastic to backpack into. There's a small ski "resort" as well with a rope tow. So mellow and fun to ski. Did you make it up to all the beaches? Camp 1, 2, 3, and 4?[IMG]

I wasn't aware of the different beaches, we walked the shore north all the way to the Quinault reservation border, that was a lot further than I thought. I think I have a picture of those same rocks taken from the deck of the beach house. Unbeknownst to us, we arrived during the razor clam digging season. So we drove to the Ace Hardware in Ocean Shores, got our permits, a clam shovel and one of those pvc pipe suction tubes. I found out that I have a gift for clamming, but didn't know what to do with them after I had them. we gave most of them to some locals and totally ruined the few we tried to cook. I'll have to get our pictures for you, I figure the thread hijack is ok since Pierres fingers probably won't thaw out for a few days. :D
