Back in my climbing days we would soak it up in bread or muffins and eat it for some extra calories. Now...it goes in the trash.

Sometimes roux for a wicked bacon gravy or sub some in for other fat in pastry for a savory pie

My grandma used to use it as a super thin spread on sandwiches to impart a really bacon taste. I've used it for grilled cheese instead of buttering the outside. I've also used it when sweating out vegetables for sloppy Joes, risotto, etc. Use it for popping popcorn in a pot even. Basically, old Europeans use it in place of oil or butter.

But for the most part my dogs love eating it with some of their food haha.

    Long live bacon! :bacon

You can always make Depression Era cookies! Although my friend tried that, in place of butter. They're very... bacon-y. It may be a good or bad thing.

Whatever you do, don't be absent-minded and put the the fork in your mouth that you just used to turn the bacon in said grease like it has frosting on it like my friend did. Quickest way to get a fancy brand the kids are all so keen about these days.

A bacon brand. Now that's love.
