Where did all the vendors go?

Discussion in 'Support' started by NMaxy, Mar 4, 2015.

  1. More than half the vendor forum threads are gone. I suspect that is because they signed up when this Fora was created, but didn't renew. Can someone confirm? A lot of our 'consumer' decisions are made based on knowing there are vendor eyeballs seeing our posts. Slippery slope...less vendors = less posts = less forum.

not everyone sees the funds translate into sales. just the nature of things. im jsut glad that the funds required are more reasonable then some places

I think they were all scared away by Anton's negative feedback thread. :D

  10. Negative feedback fights vendors:

Very surprising. We all got a free ride when the forum first started but when it comes to dropping a few $'s down for the privilege now that the free ride is over, some leave. Very surprising!

  13. I fully respect this position. At the same time - there are vendors who I bought from or contracted with, using this forum's PM mechanism, that opted not to renew.

    Thanks alot, Anton. :)

  15. Agreed.

Sorry for not letting this go...vendors need to step up and acknowledge the gain they received from this fora and re-up, or drop a huge peg in the eyes of their customers. Luke( Bloodroot)...Marko...Mareko...Maksim, Mari (Korin), Pierre, Bill....you are all better than that. Everyone of you did business with myself or my small circle of friends last year. Do you really want to tell your customers that you no longer care?

??, I disagree, not "re-upping" has nothing to do with caring or not. It is a simple cost benefits situation. I am sure everyone who made the choice had valid reasons to do so, they should not be made out to be any less because they could not rationalize the cost of multiple forum subscriptions. Knife making is not exactly a hugely profitable venture...

  17. I'd like to hear from the vendors themselves.

I don't think it's personal. I also don't think any vendor owes anyone an explanation as to why they choose not to renew a vendor subscription. Some may come back at a later time as vendors, you never know.

  20. Of course it's not personal. But if I buy a knife from a vendor I never would have heard of but for this fora, or if I contribute to crowd funding a new maker who made a plea on this very fora, you don't think they have an obligation to stick around in this community, that they benefitted from, for at least a little while?
