Random knives porn

Discussion in 'Knife & Gear Galleries' started by Anton, Nov 24, 2014.

  1. I was unable to find existing thread dedicated to some knives porn. Not necessary your own knives. Not necessary even kitchen knives. Just some thread where you can share pictures that like.
… so I decided to start one. Please feel free to join!

Greg gave me some debris from some jnat (nakayama?) and advised to make fingerstones from them. I tried to polish my Shige for about an hour. Pretty pleased with results:

    Nice, Anton, nice :)
I´m working on a few projects myself that includes the handles from you. I´m thinning the hell out of a Masakage Yuki gyuto, and I´m getting close to ending that part of the process. Next will be to remove the handle and polish it nicely. At the end I`m going to install one of the beautiful handles from you. It is going to take some time as I´m enjoying the process and I want to take every step as far as my skill lets me. I´ll send you pictures when the new baby is born :)

I have a ringed gidgee & mango handle by Anton, that I just mounted on an Ajikiri. I think it might be the nicest "looking" knife I own. Will post pic's ASAP. :)

With the impending holidays I'll offer up my Turkey set for your consideration. Started with the Shig suji - Mike Henry rehandled it for me with Bog Oak. The Eamon saya didn't make the picture but it might have been his best work. Then the fork, Mike agreed to rehandle if I could find one I liked. Took a year of ebay to find the Henckels Inox fork. Then I needed something with a little ass to it to disjoint the bird. Mike rehandled the Yoshikane V2 Honesuki. All told about a two year project. Enjoyed every bit of it. And it does come out between Thanksgivings. 2013-11-24 11.00.21.jpg

Kinda of late posting, however, here is the pic of an Itonomin Ajikiri, white #2, Anton handle (mango w/ ringed gidgee.) Thank you very much, Anton, for your continued generosity!!!

This is making me think I need a new knife! That Funaki Zakiri of yours @XooMG is looking like a want.

Jeffery: You mean the 150mm funayuki (below the smaller Carter)? I just popped the handle off that one and have started smoothing the choil and spine, and still have a lot of work to do on the bevel (it's got the wonkiest grind of my Zakuri knives so far). Once it's all fixed up though, it should be a marvelous cutter.

Since that picture I have sold 9, bought 4 and sold one more. Of the ones I've sold, the Konosuke Fujiyama B#2 240 is the one I miss/regret the most. Doh
