Killer vegetable!!! More importantly, tell us about the knife next to the romanesco. :)

Ahhh, romanesco, how I do love thee. Especially the purple and orange ones!

It's an HHH 240 custom Koa stainless. The Romesco was almost too pretty to cook. I saved it for a day so it wouldn't get lost on the Thanksgiving table. It got lost with the dry aged Rib Eyes instead . Only one of my kids seemed at all enthused about it. I wonder how they crossbred to develop this veggie.

"Of course, the most fascinating part of Romanesco is its appearance. Its spiraled buds form a natural approximation of a fractal, meaning each bud in the spiral is composed of a series of smaller buds. (Remember the Fibonacci sequence from school? The spirals follow the same logarithmic pattern)." I read this to my wife. She said "can't you just cook it and eat it?"

  13. That's what I was thinking of 'natural fractal' and if you google it the Romanesco pops up as one of the best!
