What kind of food am I looking at Jim?

Also, how does Jay usually have to make good with you, in regards to standing you up? Do you make him eat like 4 pounds of rice cakes or something? :)

Jim had to get that- it was the parking spot the opened up for him like the Red Sea for Moses.

And I just got back to my office. 10:45 = yeesh.

The Food is billed as Colombian but there is a lot of cross pollination with some of the other south and central americas. Best coffee I have ever had anywhere outside of my own house is the biggest plus.

The back basket is Empanadas a cornflour "Dumpling" for lack of a better description, stuffed with cecina -dried beef, potatoes and onion.
The round thing is a fish cake. (Caribbean influence) and the saw tooth is chicharon, fried pork belly that is pretty darn tasty.
There are also some heavily salted boiled red Peruvian potatoes in that basket.

The pastry is also called a chicharon, but its stuffed with guava paste not porkfat!

I've heard of empanadas. The property manager where I live is from Boliva and they made some the other day but I was working otherwise I could have sampled them.
    they sound delicious

Empanadas can vary tremendously from region to region. Its always a nice surprise.

I thought an Empanada was a cross between a Llama and an Alpaca...
