Possible Thermapen group buy

Discussion in 'Food and Drink' started by WarrenB, May 27, 2014.

  1. I did a Thermapen group buy on another forum and wanted to see if there would be any interest here as well. They are refurbed direct from the manufacturer here in the UK and they come as good as new with original packaging and calibration certificate. With the current exchange rate they work out at $65 inc worldwide tracked shipping. There is no profit at all made by me on the group buy.
I will probably do another one on the other forum first as there are people that missed the first group buy that are still interested.
Let me know what you guys and girls think:)

Thermapen are made in the UK. they are considered the gold standard in quick read thermometers. the probe folds out from the body. They use thermocouple sensor which actually produces a voltage that the brain uses to turn into a temperature. Most electronic digital thermometers we use are thermistor technology that uses a temperature variable resistor as the sensor. the brain uses current flow through the changing resistance to calculate temperature. Thermocouples are usually very fast.

One of the best kitchen purchases I have ever made. I wonder if I need a second one at this price?
