I have wanted to do one of these for many years. And finally its time! HHH Damascus Scimitar...

Devin set the bar pretty high with his awe inspiring Stainless feather damascus Scimitar.. You all know the one....

OK, So far the plan is River of fire feather damascus blade. Handle will be Mokume. and fossil of some sort.. Or maybe horn? I have not decided 100% and will have to spend some time listening to the materials once the blade is finished.

Here is a couple photos of the blade. Currently at about 800 Grit.. I will be hand sanding from this point to 1500 or 2000 grit. finish.

As I move forward I will try and share some photos of the materials and handle construction.

Looks awesome. How long is it? what is the purpose of that profile? Butchering?

I will have to measure it But I believe its a tad over 300mm. But I may be off.

The profile if for processing primal cuts.. Personally. Its not a profile I have had a need for as a home cook.

Hey guys and gals. Sry but this WIP just didnt go like I planned. The blade I made is a hidden tang. After reviewing the order. I see the small print. Full tang wa. OOPS..

So after letting this blade set for a while. I finally was able to get back to it and finish it off with a standard Wa handle. ..

Have no fear. I will be doing the other one and it will have a even better!! :D

In the mean time here is a quick photo I took tonight. In the rain.. I will be taking more pictures and posting it in its own thread ASAP

Blessings and Thanks for checkin out the thread. Please share your thoughts

Hey Guys. So here are some update photos on the original WIP planed knife.

Jr forged me some River of fire pattern steel for the project.

OK so made more progress and have some update photos.

File work 360* Lotsa. fine tuning to do this pattern in a smaller scale. Yet I am super pleased with the resulting look.. Was worth the wait for the right stuff to do this on the scale needed for this blade.. Will have a spacer and liner setup. Have not finalized the materials. However. Im feeling copper and black combination. with copper pins.. That to I have not fully decided on. as you can see I gave myself a few different options for many pin configurations. II will let the handle tell me what it wants. There will be a combination oif both hidden pins and exposed pins on the mammoth and the mokume. Thats the plan. [IMG]

The handle is selected fully. Will be the mammoth ivory, crackle figure. withe Mokume Bolster and butt cap. That I plan to carve up and make awesomer.!! is that even a word? It is in my shop! lol

OK so enough talk. here are the update photos. Thanks for following along. I welcome comments or questions.
