You sent my heart a fluttering. That's the most beautiful toothpick I've ever seen.
I wonder how it will hold up to heavy use.

Toothpick. The ivory is VERY durable. as a example. This piece is approx 6 to 8000 years old. For many of these years probably a few thousand or more. it was in the ocean and the waves finally brought it up to shore where it was found and eventually ended up at my shop. I say all of this... Because its too cool!!!! very durable and tough material.

I made a toothpick out of hippo ivory a few years ago. and I lost it in the move. But it was used often and looked BETTER a year after I made it then the day I finished it and started using it!

LOL. OK, OK. Ill throw it up on auction if there are a few people who might like it. Just hate to see a auction with 1 bidder. Sorta takes the fun right out of it :)

Brad and Jason. The thing is. I dont have more of this material to make 20 or more. Then go into the walrus ivory toothpick making business! If I did have more. I would not waste it on tooth picks when there are knives to be made!!!!

As I said in a earlier post. Walrus tusk of this caliber. With this color, and depth of color, etc.. is "RARE" and if you can find some. Its VERY, and I mean VERY expensive. That makes this toothpick a very rare and expensive one of a kind custom item. ;) hehehe ..

    Thanks and God Bless!

Im glad to see the bidding has taken off. Although Im not surprised at all its getting bids. Its cool and fun!!!

I have had many people message me and ask if its for sale on FaceBook. Im steering them over to the Fora now.. So you guys may get some outsideer interference!!

I had one guy wanting a mammoth ivory toothpick. Beings Im not in the tooth pick making business. I told his sure. Ill be happy to make it for 100.00 and he didnt skip a beat and sent over the cash! lol ;) Maybe I missed my calling?

Randy, what does that inner keratin piece look like polished? Is that porous or can that be used? Looks like you could make a pretty cool hidden tang with that alone.

Soooo matching walrus whisker floss is out of the question? I'm quick on my toes, I bet I can pluck one and run like the dickens before it even wakes up.
